Mom, I GOT HIT BY A CAR

This afternoon I was in my house mopping my kitchen floor. Tim went outside to ride his bike. He has been so proud that he can ride with out his training wheels that it's the only thing he wants to do ALL the time! SO no big deal a few min. later I hear him call MOM, but I kept mopping... when I got finished I went out to check on him. He is standing on the corner with an older gentleman. I could tell something was wrong. I went running over and asked what happened. Tim started crying and said MOM, I GOT HIT BY A CAR! I could not believe it! So we sat down on the grass, his ankle was all bloodied up and instantly bruised. The man that was walking by said he was a retired doctor and he proceeded to check Tim over, thank goodness he was there! He said when he saw Tim he was sitting on the curb crying. So he did not see who had hit him. Tim said the car hit him and stopped for only a second and then drove away. He said it was a white car, like mine (a white ford explorer) but without the flower stickers. He could not see who was driving. It was around 230 in the afternoon, the time that school gets out. SO if any one noticed a white SUV around that time Tues. afternoon driving through timp meadows, I would appreciate any info.
This is the scape down the road where Tim got dragged on his bike.... if you notice there is a hole in the road, that is where the screw that holds the tire on was broken off still laying in the road when we got out there. There is a little brake mark and then the scape is about 8 feet long.

This is the part of the bike that got dragged down the road!

His bike is "totaled". That is the one thing he said. Now I have to get a new bike!

So this is the worst of his "oueys" (if that's how you spell it!) Pretty good scrape and bruiz. He is very lucky that is all he got considering! When he was telling me about it later he kept saying.. "Good thing I didn't die huh mom." Yes it IS a good thing! I can't not even imagine this life with out my little Timmy. I am SO thankful he didn't get hurt any worse!

I ran into Laura (not literaly) while she was on a bike ride and she told me that Tim had been hit by a car! I can't believe that! That is scary! I can't believe that they drove away. His poor ankle looks so sore! So sad about his bike. We have a couple extra if he wants to use one until the weather gets bad!

I know that this scared the heck out of me and my kids and I am so glad that Tim is ok. I had to follow Landon to the house when I heard cause I just had to see for myself that Tim was ok. I hope whoever it was that hit him finds their conscience and comes back and admits they did it. I can't imagine living with knowing I hurt someone especially a little boy and hiding from it. People suck sometimes

Oh my gosh! Poor little guy! I can't believe someone would hit a little boy on his bike and just drive away! I would be so mad if I were you! I'm glad he is okay, and didn't get hurt worse. And THANK GOODNESS bikes are replaceable!

Oh my gosh! I can't believe that happened. I'm so glad he's ok. I hope you find who it was.. did you file a police report? I don't know how that would work, but that person needs to be caught.

We did file a police report. As soon as I got Tim settled I called the cops. They were great. The woman cop talked to Tim and got the whole story from him and then they took pictures of him and his bike and all the marks on the road. They told us it would probably be impossible to find who did it, because Tim was the only one who saw the car. So we are on the look out!!

Your father-in-law told me what happened the next day. I can't believe it! I was so shocked of someone actually doing a hit and run in our neighborhood. Makes me so mad! But I am so happy Tim is not hurt too badly! He is a lucky kid and oh so cute!

Yesterday when Tim got up for school he wouldn't even put his foot on the ground. So I took him to the doctor and he does not have any broken bones!! Just some torn ligaments. So just some r&r is what he needs!

I started crying when josh called me up and told me right after it happend/.. Thats why I called you to make sure that tim was ok and if there was anything I could do, cuase i was in heber and would have loved to just drive around and look for the dumb ass that hit tim. Im so glad that tim didnt get anythign else hit. just a reminder to all of us that there are jerks in the world who dont care a damn about other people!

I cannot believe this!!! Stuff like this only happens on the news, not to people you know, and not in little old Heber. I'm so glad he is o.k. and I sure hope they find who did it.
